Title:
Pilot. A child is tucked up in bed by his mother and after kissing him goodnight and taking a toy plane from him, tucks him in and covers him with a mosquito net. The child peacefully falls asleep and as he lays there, his appearance ages quickly and he transforms into a man although his surroundings remain the same. He is awakened by an alarm clock. He rises, lifts up the net and opens his wardrobe. He gets dressed into a Pilots uniform and adjusts his hat perfectly in front of the mirror. We cut to images of him being greeted with respect (as a captain) as he enters his cockpit ready for work. A stewardess shakes his shoulder saying Ôhey sleepy, donŐt you want breakfast?Ő He awakens to see his mother looking over him gently shaking his shoulder and realises it was all a dream. Title:
Nightmare. Open on a beautiful scene of a mother putting her child to bed. She tucks him in, kisses him goodnight and turns out the light. The child looks peaceful and smiles as he falls asleep. As he sleeps we enter his dream, we see images of him running to school, running at school and growing up into an athlete. He runs in competitions and is his parents are proud of him. SFX: An overpowering Mosquito buzz, as if flying into his ear. The noise makes him jump up as he opens his eyes. He is in his bed, just the same, but the room feels darker. The room begins to behave strangely and he feels worried, there is a frightening mosquito in the room, not seen literally, but giant in itŐs presence. His bed begins to shake and the walls begin slowly closing in - itŐs now almost too dark to see. He runs to find his mother and discovers she is not in her room and he, along with the room, shakes and falls. He awakens from his nightmare to find his mother shaking him and telling him it is ok, it was only a dream. He begins to smile as she calms and comforts him holding him close to her. The child was not sleeping under a net. We fade to the image of the child sleeping peacefully under a Supanet. New baby. A pregnant woman drifts off to sleep stroking her belly and thinking of her baby. As she drifts into sleep, we see her dream of the baby, through images of her reading pregnancy books, laughing with her partner as the try to choose a name, preparing the baby room with a cot and painting it brightly, shopping for baby products and preparing a special box in the bathroom for all the baby necessities. The dream becomes interrupted with flashes of darker images. Confusing images of hospital emergency scenes and panic with sounds of children crying etc. The flashes settle back on the baby room although empty and grey. It becomes evident that the cot doesnŐt have a net. The woman awakens grasping her net, sweating and breathing deeply. She relaxes slightly as she feels her belly and realises it was a dream.
